David Mack is the New York Times best-selling author and artist of the Kabuki graphic novels, the writer and artist of Daredevil from Marvel Comics, and the author and artist of his children's book The Shy Creatures from MacMillan. A feast for the eyes!

I preordered Dream Logic not knowing what to expect other than great images from David Mack. Wow! It's a feast for the eyes! It's PACKED FULL of brilliant art of many different styles and media. His watercolors are fantastic. Mr Mack is truly a modern master. This will be one of my go to books when I'm looking for some inspiration. Order this book. You will be blown away!

Youre gonna heart this book.

David Mack is one of, if not THE, most talented and unique artists in the world today. This is the book Ive been waiting for. A great collection of his work on quality paper and oversized pages.
If you enjoy art in general or appreciate Davids work, you owe it to yourself to purchase this book.

Wow!

This book is so many different things, I barely know where to start. The first half, give or take, includes some meandering autobiography. As with so many creative minds, Mack has always been his own kind of person, and seeing his story in his own words gives some insight into how his fabulous artwork comes into being.
Then there's the artwork itself. The later part of the book feels like a guided tour of his notebooks. This shows more breadth of vision than any other collection I can think of. Stark, gorgeous figure studies, often quick sketches done with pencil, pen, or brush, showcase his skill at portraiture. But, a bit like Dali, he puts that skill to work far beyond mere realism. Whether loose and goofy, surrealistic and polished, or layered and complex, that basic ability reaches out in many directions.
All of which brings us back to the narrative style of the biographical notes. That visual richness supports, and sometimes pushes well ahead of the text itself. The combination, the complexity of the presentation sometimes left me torn, as eager to absorb the imagery as I was to follow the text. But, as someone once said, "Writing about art is like dancing about architecture." Any description I offer can only be a weak and misleading representation of this remarkable work. It simply has to be experienced directly. I'm sure you'll be as amazed as I was.
